This once was the base directory of the anonymous file system for
exporting information from the University of Cambridge Computer
Laboratory (cl.cam.ac.uk)

It could initially be accessed using ftp to

	ftp.cl.cam.ac.uk login=ftp pw=your-email-address

where your-email-address is your FULL email address (so that you can be
contacted if you have problems, the file is found to be out of date, etc),
e.g. "pb@cl.cam.ac.uk". Note that it must contain an "@".

Later the preferred access became via the WWW using the URL

   http://www.ftp.cl.cam.ac.uk/

Since the late 1990s, material has moved from this server to the main
departmental website at

  http://www.cl.cam.ac.uk/
